Claudio Cristani

IT  Pianist, composer and choir conductor Claudio Cristani was born in Asola (Italy). Besides graduating at the Conservatorio Statale di Mantova in the class of Nando Salardi, he also studied composition with Fabio Nieder at the Conservatorio Statale di Trieste, choral music and choir conducting at the Conservatorio Statale di Milano and completed his musicological studies at the University of Pavia.  He also specialized in chamber music with Dario De Rosa, Maureen Jones, the Trio di Trieste and Josef Paratore at prestigious international academies such the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (Florence Italy), the Scuola Superiore Internazionale del Trio di Trieste (Duino, Italy) and the Internationale Sommerakademie Salzburg (Austria). He was awarded at numerous national and international competitions. Besides an international career performing with pianist Stefania Amisano (Duo Novalis) since 1992 , he plays regularly as soloist and in chamber music ensembles. As pianist, composer  and improviser Claudio has a keen interest in contemporary music. Since 2010 is founding member of the music collective cantierezero, an ensemble devoted to the experimentation of new paths of contemporary chamber music in synergy with electronics and digital arts. He regularly works in the performing arts field, collaborating with actors and authors developing crossover projects between music, theater and performance.
